A spiritual evening

This Monday, the 14th January shall be a special recital of sufi poetry from Gurbani by the famous Prof Dr. Jagir Singh. It would be a 45 minutes of sheer 'anand', a spiritual connection, an invocation to the Lord and the Almighty, that would help us stop for a while and rediscover our inner being.
The meeting has been organised jointly with the Inner Wheel Club of Chandigarh, who have also arranged a sumptuous 'Langar' prepared with deep affection, love and care, for everyone to partake.
All Rotarians are requested to join in with their family members, and friends.

GSE Team to Italy

The GSE Team from District 3080 will be visiting Rotary District 2120 in Southern Italy next year. The GSE Team from Italy will be visiting India from 25th Jan. to 24th Feb. 2007.
About the program
The Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange (GSE) program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers and employed full time. The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country's culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.
In a typical four-week tour, applicants participate in five full days of vocational visits, 15 to 20 club presentations, 10 to 15 formal visits and social events, two to three days at the district conference, three to four hours per day of cultural and site tours, and three to four hours per day of free time with host families.
For each team member, the Foundation provides the most economical round-trip airline ticket between the home and host countries. Rotarians in the host area provide for meals, lodging, and group travel within their district.
Members are requested to look for suitable candidates for selection as GSE team members. The last date for receiving the applications by the Club is 15th December 2007. The interviews will be held at the Rotary House 107A, Sector 18A, Chandigarh on 18th December 2007.
